A series of self-portraits that express different aspects of my relationship with Jesus Christ

I tried to hide from Him to go my own way, but He never leaves; His Spirit is within me.
I feel reverence for Him as I stand in His presence. I get strength from Him to move forward.
When I'm not running away from God and have decided to submit (surrender) to His will, I am calm, confident, even if things around me are falling apart.
I SEE YOUR FACE
I have never seen Jesus' face; I only imagine if I did, all I would see is intense light.
Eric C. Jackson photography "Dark Light" A series of self-portraits that express different aspects of my relationship with Jesus Christ continues
Sometimes I cry out to God, pleading, feeling like I'm not heard...and He listens to every word.
When my pain is exhausted, I come to realize God has been working in and through my life, though He felt so far away. He is still here.
I am revived when I remember and hold on to the fact that Jesus will never leave me.
When I am not worried, stressed about the obstacles I face, I can listen clearly to the Holy Spirit's voice guiding me on where to go next.
Doubt returns when I don't feel Him near me. Is He still there? Always.
I am a child of God. I am free to be me.
I am surrounded by God's love. The greatest assurance of His existence is the Holy Spirit living within me.

"In photography or writing, my goal is tell a great story. A great story is not only entertaining, but it makes sense and is relatable to the audience. Photographs of architecture, landscapes, and portraiture are often used as my inspiration to build scenes and characters in my stories.
While I intend to practice writing different genres, all of my work has to have a certain quality to it: invite the audience to think about how the story parallels to their own lives. Film is a series of rapidly moving still images. Therefore, whether it takes one still image or several moving in harmony, the message needs to be clearly seen, understood, and accepted on a basic level at the very least.
In photography, I use the Canon 5D Mark ii, editing in Adobe PhotoShop CS6. I'm also developing my skill with the HD video feature, mainly shooting landscape, cityscape, and nature scenes.
In writing, I use Final Draft 8 while adding side notes, concepts, etc. in Microsoft Word. My writing and photography is explained in more detail on WordPress."
